RENT Training

RENT offers monthly training workshops to members. The Training in Essential Skills for Housing work (TESH) workshops build core knowledge and skills that are needed in the daily work of housing workers. The Current Issues workshops are planned only a month or two in advance so that they provide timely and effective responses to questions that arise in the daily work of housing help services. Trainings focus on practical and current topics to build essential, core knowledge and skills that are useful in the daily work of housing workers.
As much as possible, trainings are facilitated by those working in the field because RENT is a peer-learning network. These facilitators are called mentors. Other experienced workers are available to the network as online mentors; and still other mentors in the network are available for job shadowing by colleagues from different contexts or workers who are new to the field.
RENT also posts a list of training offered by other organizations in the field that would be of interest to our membership. Upcoming conferences, seminars, workshops and lectures of interest to the housing sector are advertised along with a list and links to ongoing and regular training sessions.
